This a picture of my grandmother and her brother. Both are in their mid-nineties. Born in 1917 and 1918. They have seen it all, the great depression, world wars, good economy, bad economy etc…. They are their only surviving siblings. Sitting there, he reached over and grabbed her hand and held it with such strength despite his fragility. A moment truly beyond words. I had my Leica D-Lux 3 on me and snapped a photograph. I always carry it in my pocket. I feel this is what Cartier-Bresson called the Decisive Moment.
Shot hand held, with a Leica D-LUX 3, LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 1:2.8-4.9/6.3-25.2 ASPH, @ f/2.8 1/30 sec.
Why I use a Leica:
I consider myself more of a film photographer, i love my Leica M6 most especially. There is something about Leica cameras and lens that captures the light so perfectly, so vividly and with so much tone. The best way to capture the world is through a rangefinder. for sure!
Anthony Perritano lives right now i live in Oslo, Norway. He travels alot, and so he shoots all over the world. Please visit his personal web site anthonyperritano.com, and his Flickr photostream.
