When trekking between monasteries in Ladakh, India in October 2009, I stopped to photograph the landscape, which is always beautiful there, particularly with the fall colors. Ladakh is one of the driest places on earth, and I liked the contrast between the stream and the rugged mountains behind. As I was framing the photo, I noticed two women with donkeys arriving from the background. So I waited, and they walked into the frame as if being perfectly set up in the studio.
This photo was shot with a Leica M8 with Cosina Voigtlander 28mm 2.0 Ultron lens.
Why I use a Leica:
I love the simplicity, immediacy, and quality. No distractions.
