QuoteWhen trekking between monasteries in Ladakh, India in October 2009, I stopped to photograph the landscape, which is always beautiful there, particularly with the fall colors. Ladakh is one of the driest places on earth, and I liked the contrast between the stream and the rugged mountains behind. As I was framing the photo, I noticed two women with donkeys arriving from the background. So I waited, and they walked into the frame as if being perfectly set up in the studio.

This photo was shot with a Leica M8 with Cosina Voigtlander 28mm 2.0 Ultron lens.

Why I use a Leica:
I love the simplicity, immediacy, and quality. No distractions.

Aaron Greenman lives in New Delhi, India and shoots primarily in India for the moment. In the past, he has shot in North America, Europe, Africa, and elsewhere in East Asia. Please visit his personal web site on acuitycolorgrain.com for more global Leica shots.
