I took this photo at a wedding I shot last fall. I used a Panasonic G1 camera with my Leica 50mm Summicron lens. I have shot with Leica for years. There is something extremely special about using Leica gear. Among all the great photo companies—and I have been fortunate to have been able to use some of the world’s greatest equipment from a variety of manufacturers—Leica stands out in its commitment to what the ancient Athenians called arête — excellence. When using Leica gear I feel both a burden and an inspiration: I feel that I have to prove myself worthy of the equipment, yet, at the same time, I am also inspired to do my very best. This photo represents that kind of experience for me.

I love the silhouette of the bride, and the fact that you have to “seach” in the picture to find the groom. Very nice, always nice to see un-traditional wedding photos.
Hello. Many thanks for your comment. I shoot weddings with a partner. He focuses on traditional flash shots while I specialize in available light/candids. I shot this particular photo in the midst of our traditional flash portraits. I snuck behind the couple and used the 2 strobes we were using for light–shooting towards them–breaking a cardinal rule…but achieving an effect I was very pleased with.
