QuoteThis photograph is special to me because I love the way the climb up the building feels like a tough road to the top. The dead vines and branches help frame the photo, and the reds and blues captured in the image make this photo special for me.

Why I use a Leica:
I shoot Leica because I never want to miss the opportunity to capture a moment exactly as I’ve seen it. This shot was taken with an M8.2 and a 50mm Summicron lens. Shutter speed was 1/30 and aperture priority was wide open at f/2.0, with an ISO speed of 160.

Excellent compositiion and color. Almost abstract. If possible, suggest shooting some more as the vine turns green. (if it isn’t already dead!)

Love the building facade and the way the photographer has captured it. You have to study the picture to realize what it is and then it really grabs you. Terrific work.

Excellent photograph! It represents a specific message to the photographer while allowing others to create their own meaning.

    Gorgeous image
the beautiful delicate almost framing of the soft branches/vines on top left juxtapose the coarse texture and boldness of the building
beautiful color balance i love that icee blue and the brick each brightening and softening where necessary
very abstract love all the shapes and lines that cross the whole width of the image you brought my eyes all over the image
    a very well balanced piece
A response to the photographers comments- I too feel like i have seen exactly what you saw in capturing at the precise angle you did – your leica is incredible as is your eye kudos bill

LOVE IT , IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I COULD ACTUALLY CLIMB UP THE BUILDING. THE VINES GIVES IT AN INTESTING LOOK, MORE LIKE WEBS AND THE SHAPE OF THE BUILDING LOOKING UP REMINDS ME OF THE EFFEL TOWER FRONT SIDE. the color of the brick is vivid which I think is so unique because the buildings form especially with the vines growing across gives it an old time feel, like it were many decades old an yet the redness of the brick emplys newness, as if it were just finished

I find that as I stare at this picture it’s no longer a building but rather a ladder to the sky.
As I stare even longer, I wonder where that ladder will take me. Fantastic eye Matt.
