QuoteI have been living in Hong Kong for the last two years. From an elevation the sky scrapers look like dead trees. The city is my concrete forest. I live my life on ground level and when walking the streets the city comes to life. Sometimes even animals appear. I often find myself wandering around the smallest and most narrow alleys looking for things to shoot. I am not a photographer but I do carry my cameras around with me in an attempt to document my surroundings. I often come back to the shot of this cat. I imagine that the cat has been living in the narrow moist alleys of Hong Kong for so long that the eyes have taken on the color of the sewage lid next to it.

Why I use a Leica:
The Leica is perfect for me and the way I use my camera. I hang my M5 around my neck from the short side and on it I have a 50mm Summicron f/2.0. The gear is basic, really takes no space at all and I just love the details and sharpness in the shots it gives me.

You can find more Leica M5 shots on Theodor Ernstson’s Flickr photostream.

Nicely pictured – both in words and visuals.

nice shot, I can definitely see the Summicron’s out of focus texture there. Great lens!
