I took this picture at the Alhambra Palace gardens in Granada, Spain, with my D-Lux 4. I saw the couple heading across the square, grabbed my camera and took the shot. I love the way her red shirt is the only real visible colour in the shot and the crispness of their shadows. Definitely one of my favourite shots from that or any other trip.
Shot with a Leica D-Lux 4, 1/2000 sec at f/8.0 (ISO 400)
Why I use a Leica:
Since I bought the Leica last year I have hardly taken my SLR anywhere. I love the quality of the colours (and that can’t be replicated with software) and the overall feel of the pictures. It’s also really great to have such a small camera that produces results as good as, if not better than, my SLR as you can get pictures with the D-LUX that you’d never get waving a giant SLR around.

Proof, Paul, that the best photographs are taken by the camera you happen to have with you. Great timing.
That’s stunning! Looks like a monochrome shot until the little burst of red catches your eye. Thanks for sharing it with us
