I shot this picture with my Leica M8.2 while sitting in a public bus in Cartagena, Colombia. The photograph is of the fare collector’s hand, who stood on the side entrance of the bus helping people in and out and collecting the fare from the passengers. I captured the moment when he was catching a breath between stops, as he was supporting himself to one of the bus’ column, at the same time as he was holding on to the bills he had received and was using for change.
Why I use a Leica:
I have been taking pictures with 35 mm cameras since I was 13. I have built my own cameras and I have experimented with pinhole photography. I have always been a Leica fan, and as soon as I could, I purchased my first Leica, an M6. Now, I own a 1930 Leica I, the Leica M6, and a recently purchased Leica M8.2. I like the amazing Leica optics, the feel of the cameras, and the quality of the final result.
