QuoteThis shot is special because when I saw it I thought it was just a perfect little snippet of the great big world just for me. I appreciate the deeper meaning of everyday things and happening, so I try to capture them in my photography. I think this photograph exemplifies that in a perfect manor. I love the geometry and lines and how the subject is in the perfect spot, acquiring refuge in the shade. I think if the address of the building were different, it would change the picture entirely. I think a lot of people can empathize with this man who is taking shelter from the harm that in this case is the sun.

Why I use a Leica:
I shot this with my Leica MP and a current Summicron 50mm. I received this kit as a gift and it has really changed things for me not only in photography but the way I see things because this tool gives new light in so many ways to things I normally felt blase about or thought was ordinary. I didn’t mind paying the extra money for lenses because they are so unique in their quality. I rarely go anywhere without it because it allows me to capture a moment the way I saw it.
