Leica UK price increase

As announced in December, the Leica prices was raised after January 1st, but contrary to rumors, the Leica M9, X1, S2 and D-Lux 4 also got a price increase.

The new price for the M9 is £4950, a £100 increase on the 2009 price.
X1 price is also a little higher in this 2010 price list, where it’s listed at £1395. £1320 last year, £75 increase.
A Leica S2 will set you back a whopping £744 more (now it’s £16740) if haven’t already paid for it in 2009.

The greatest increase in the M-lens department is for the 50mm Noctilux f/0.95. New price is £7195, a £400 increase.

      There was a VAT increase in the UK on 01 January 2010. That combined with exchange rate changes should explain the price increase.

    The X1 hasn’t even come out yet! How can they raise the price? That’s crazy!

    It is arrougance when they can’t even produce enough cameras for the people who have been waiting for months and months before they have a PRICE INCREASE! Now that is marketing!
