QuoteThis picture was taken as part of a work I am doing on Opinions. This woman was preaching the bible with an incredible faith. In this instant, her convictions are filling the space illuminated by a declining but vivid winter sun. The bokeh (typical signature of the Summicron) works well here and add to the intensity of the expression. This was the moment I was waiting for and only a Leica could capture it.

Shot with a Leica M8.2, Summicron 40mm F2 1:1000

Why I use a Leica:
No need to mention again the quality of the lenses, the un-obtrusive approach, the simplicity I have learnt to appreciate with years of M6 and M7 love story.
With the M8/9 Leica offers a rare tool that allows you to approach digital photography in its most basic essence : putting together light, space and instant without the interference of some “intelligent” functionalities. The leica does not think for you. You feel, understand and control what you are doing. It does what it’s said on the tin: it’s a tool to write the light.

    Great picture !
You’re right, the “swirling” bokeh from the summicron 40 matches perfectly the subject: it seems like there is heat in the air, like burning fuel, “mirages” in the desert or…hell’s coming.
    Good work.
