I shot this some time ago during a shooting for a vintage shot.
I particularly like this one for the sense of mystery it conveys, the different histories anyone can see in this image.
Shot with a Leica M8 with a Summicron 28mm ASPH.
Why I use a Leica:
I use Leica M, both M8 and M6, as I love how these cameras allow you to be in contact with the subject. Being able to see what is outside the frame-lines is also a great help in composing the image. And I really feel I take more interesting images with rangefinder than with other cameras.

I saw Mario’s work via his comment on the Dream Combo lottery (of which we both, unfortunately, did not win). Loved it then and love it even more now. Thanks for sharing!
very ethereal..!
Mario, I like the photo and it made me look at your website. Great stuff there! I’ve bookmarked it and I’m sure I’ll return to see more.
I also have to say that IMHO you’re one of the few photographers I’ve seen so far who really mastered digital black-and-white. I never managed to do that and that’s one of the reasons I’m back to film. Your photo here and those on your website (assuming that not all of them are film photos) show me what I was always trying to achieve (in vain).
Wow, I discovered the publication and comments just now. Thank you so much!
Edi, it’s actually easyer than you imagine, start with pushing contrast a bit, then you will find your way!
