I made this shot with my Leica M6 ttl, 35mm f/2 summicron and tri-x when I was on the bus. The reading moment looked so good, and I just had to capture her and the mood, so I prefocused, guessed the shuttertime and made the shot from my lap.
Why I use a Leica:
This is not my best shot, I missed a bit on the focus, but this is one of the shots where you start to feel that you know your camera, prefocusing, setting the shuttertime and are able to capture the mood and moment you see. All without even checking the settings or compose the frame, just use the feel of the camera and your intuition. The small, but solid Leica body, smooth focus, the discreet shooting and handling are just a pure joy and happiness when photographing. My Leica is always with me, no other camera I got or use gives me the same good feeling as my Leica. The feeling…

This is a really great shot. I’m usually a stickler for tack sharp photos, but it’s not too far out of focus and it doesn’t bother me at all. I hope to get even remotely this good with my Leica and not have to put so much thought into what all I’m setting.
