This image is special to me because I do most of my day-to-day photography while commuting to and from work on the New York subway. This fellow darting across the street, well, he’s just another commuter like myself. I cross this street every day, and it just happened this once that I managed to make a photo out of it. So I sort of see myself in it.
I made this photograph with a Leica M9 and a Summicron-M 50mm at 1/60 and f/4. I produced the B&W image using Silver Efex Pro.

Great shot, Scott. I love the lines and there’s something very “New York” about this lone man. Where were you standing when you took this picture?
Hi Scott,
I like it! Ideally, I’d like to see the man positioned a little further to the right, but don’t worry about it :-)

Thanks, Jarle. Perhaps this ‘decisive moment’ was a quarter of a second late—but not too late, wink, wink. And I appreciate the feedback.
