This shot was made on our vacation in Avignon, France. We were exploring the older parts of the city when suddenly we heard this noise coming from one of the side streets. This kid was was running behind his mom and kicking a plastic bottle around.
Suddenly he shouted something to his mom and that was my signal. I jumped a few meters forward to get a better composition and took the shot. I can’t remember if he even landed. I just walked away re-checking my camera settings. For the next 5 minutes I must have drove my girlfriend mad talking about this shot.
Equipment: Leica M4-P, Voigtlander Color Skopar 35mm f2.5, Ilford Hp5 – Developed in Ilfosol 3 (11min@20C)
Why I use a Leica:
Compact, the quality, discreet, the history and beautiful design. I feel one with my Leica and it does not make me think and worry about the technical part of photography. I recently bought a M8 and I was amazed how easy it was to switch to digital. It just feels like my other M camera. In my opinion Leica succeeded in making the perfect creative tool.
