I remember I took the shot when I was on my way for film processing. During the time I was waiting in front of the traffic light, I looked around, I suddenly discovered the beam of sunshine on my left hand side. At that moment, I was totally addicted by what I’d seen. I wanted to capture it, and the idea made me walk away from my original route, took out my MP quickly, and then took 2 shots.

Once I had finished, the sunlight was gone, and the sky turned grey for a long while. It made me think, it’s just like many events that happenes in our lives, you either grab it or miss it… Moreover, the beam of sunlight surely cheer me up a while during my recent depression, and that was why I wanted to capture it and freeze the moment for long.

I took the shot with a Leica MP , Summilux 50mm f/1.4, 2nd edition, pre-ASPH, Kodak Ektar 100.

Why I choose Leica?
Once I had crashed into the world of rangefinder camera, I already wanted to own a Leica as soon as possible. Finally, I got a MP, a total masterpiece with excellent craftsmanship involved. The outlook design, the weight, the hands on feeling… all are what a Leica’s standing for. To me, taking a picture is a process for relaxation as well as mind training. With a mechanical camera body, it fulfills my desires as a control freak and extend my enjoyment for each picture taking.
