I took this picture in the last days of 2009, during a massive snowing here in Milano. I was near the Stazione Centrale (Central Station), carrying my Leica M6 in a pocket with Kodak 400 TX. When I came back home, I had a cold but the camera was still okay.
I use Leica M6 + Summicron 35mm IV or 50mm (and sometimes a little Nikon flash).
Why I use a Leica:
I started photography some years ago, during the digital hype. Then I started using film, mostly on toy cameras, until I discovered rangefinder cameras, and it was an instant love, but I considered Leica too much expensive. Then, about two years ago I was shooting at night in some crumbling buildings, but the Voigtlander I had failed. So, I bought the M6 as a backup, but I started using it and now I always carry it with me, mostly doing black and white street photography here in Milano. I love using the zone focus, I find it’s really better than autofocus for me.
Alessandro Scarano has got two Flickr photostreams at flickr.com/katalepsis and flickr.com/alessandroscarano. The latter being the most Leica oriented. Check them out!
